Massachusetts authorities found and confiscated a weapon known as a “vampire straw” at Boston’s Logan Worldwide Airport after a passenger tried to hide it in carry-on baggage, authorities mentioned.

Transportation Safety Administrator Dan Velez on Monday tweeted a photograph of the vampire straw, which can be utilized like a dagger, and wrote: “This stuff will not be allowed in passenger carry-on baggage.

“A passenger discovered that out yesterday @BostonLogan when @MassStatePolice confiscated the merchandise and finally arrested the 26-year-old man on a state cost. #travelfail”

Arman Achuthan Nair, of Chicago, was detained on Sunday night and charged with carrying a harmful weapon after a 10-inch lengthy titanium straw with a beveled finish was present in his backpack, AP reported.

The straws, which can be utilized to eat drinks, is known as a “weapon” on the web site of knife retailer Szaboinc.com.

TSA spokesman Velez instructed McClatchy Information that the Logan passenger had “artfully hid the Vampire straw with different straws.”
