WILMINGTON — The native tourism authority selling the area received three statewide advertising awards from the N.C. Journey Trade Affiliation earlier final month.

The New Hanover County Tourism Improvement Authority introduced Thursday that the Wilmington and Seashores Conference and Guests Bureau acquired Tourism Advertising Achievement Awards, together with “Better of Present” amongst different entries for vacation spot advertising in N.C.

The CVB received a platinum award within the leisure advertising class for the group’s “Hallow-Scream” marketing campaign and introduced dwelling a gold award in neighborhood relations for its 2022 Native Tourism Ambassador video.

The video, which debuted in Could, was supposed to instill a way of pleasure for the area as an important place to stay, work and play and the way tourism impacts high quality of place.

In an effort to handle lingering challenges of Covid-19 and to make the most of the nationwide publicity generated by the Wilmington-made blockbuster movie “Halloween Kills,” the CVB developed a “Hallo-Scream Getaway” social and internet marketing campaign.

The marketing campaign was developed to advertise tourism throughout the fall season and included an inventory of actions and places guests may make the most of throughout Halloween.

In response to a press launch, the marketing campaign’s artistic components tapped into Wilmington’s thriving movie neighborhood by highlighting places from domestically filmed horror productions.

Along with the social marketing campaign, the CVB partnered with Go to NC to execute a “Halloween Kills” journey giveaway and social promotion for the premiere of the movie. Winners attended a red-carpet premiere of “Halloween Kills” and acquired a Hollywood East-themed journey to Wilmington.

New Hanover County’s room occupancy tax collections reported file will increase in September and October 2021, at a 22.5% hike and 36.2%, respectively. Halloween-themed marketing campaign internet site visitors and social media enagagment elevated yr over yr by 27% and 106%, respectively.
