Nashik: The state tourism department has decided to promote various tourism sites in Nashik district to attract more tourists, said Madhumita Sardesai, deputy director, state tourism department.
The office-bearers of Travel Agents Association Nashik (TAAN), Sagar Wakchaure, Datta Bhalerao and others were present at the tourism conclave attended by Sardesai.
The state tourism department has already announced plans to enhance travel and trade opportunities in the state. The tourism conclave in Nashik was held as part of this project.
Jagdish Chavan, regional manager, Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC), Nashik, spoke about the various projects being undertaken by the tourism corporation in the district. He said that the work for the Kalagram project is in progress in Nashik and it will be completed within a year.
The tourism department intends to implement a comprehensive strategy to boost tourism and trade. This strategy includes development of new tourism circuits, enhancement of existing infrastructure, and promotion of sustainable tourism practices.
Moreover, the tourism department also aims to collaborate with various stakeholders, including travel agencies, tour operators, and local communities, to create an unforgettable experience for visitors while ensuring economic growth and empowerment of the region.
During the conclave, the travel agents urged the tourism department officials to provide all the basic facilities for tourists in the city. They also requested that a Nashik darshan bus be introduced for tourists coming from across the country.
